Dispatch
All telephone and radio calls are received in our Dispatch Center. Dispatchers use telephones, radios and computer systems to provide information to the public and officers and to send officers in response to calls for service.
Our Dispatch Center can handle four dispatcher positions. To the front of the two primary dispatch positions in this photograph are the radio consoles consisting of three transmitters on three different police channels, one receiver for scanning the Fire Department and one transmitter for the Public Works radio system. Above the main section of console is a state of the art Widescreen Plasma monitor displaying maps of the town along with real time positions of our police cruisers on the road. To the left of each dispatcher is a telephone console for regular telephone calls, and to their right are the consoles for the Enhanced 911 system. Above the consoles, and on either side of the Widescreen Plasma Monitor, are Closed Circuit Television monitors that watch surveillance cameras both inside and outside the station.
